12 Years Service

Celebrating Our 12th Anniversary in Business!

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of you who have been such a pleasure to work with over the past 12 years. Today we are celebrating 12 years in business!

I started the company, Khumbu Nangpala in October of 2012 and immediately applied for a business license, and a trademark as well as started the process of building my website. This was a time when the recession/ depression in this country prevented most people from working and making a living. Times were so tough back then. My uncle came up with the idea of opening trekking company. so we could all work together to find opportunities to meet, network and eventually get back to work. I have helped and worked with over a million people in the last 12 years. It has been an absolute honor to do my job.

When I started in the industry, there was just Khumbu Nangpala, can you imagine? 0 knowlage! When I was under graduate, I was depressed. But my uncle Kami Rita Sherpa came to me and said:” It’s okay getting graduated should not be the only goal being independent should be your goal to be achieved.” I was confused by his words. I looked at him strangely. He understood me and with a smile on his face he replied to me “We Sherpa, are related to the mountains your grandfather, father, and uncle also worked in this sector without education but you have a plus point you are educated.” So after my uncle’s advice, I started my own business Khumbu Nangpaa Trekking And Expedition.pvt.ltd.  Nevertheless, I’ve been facing a lot of problems due to my disabled legs for a long time. However, today I’m a capable tour operator in Nepal just because of her uncle Kami Rita Sherpa.

I was the first I was the youngest woman entrepreneur and is a famous Sherpa woman YouTuber/social worker in Nepal.

Deep down, I knew a lot of things that most people did not believe would happen at the time. I have watched companies I promoted 12 years ago, go from just starting out.

This entire evolutionary process of this industry, as well as the companies and practices within it, has been incredible to watch. I am very grateful I had this opportunity.

In my background, Fura Chhamzi Sherpa, I’m (born 1988)  a Nepali Sherpa entrepreneur and was born a healthy child in a middle-class Sherpa family in Nepal on October 21, 1988. When I was two years old I almost suffered an early death. But there was a miracle. I didn’t die. Unfortunately, I lost the use of my legs. The doctor could not find out my problem. my treatment was stopped but in 1997 I went to Japan with my papa. The doctor found the reason why I was unable to walk. It was spinal meningitis. He suggested that I needed risky brain surgery, but I would have a 50% chance of survival, a 25% chance to be permanently mentally disabled, and overall a 25% chance to walk again. Ultimately my parents couldn’t risk and decided not to do brain surgery. Then I was sent back to Nepal but was better than before. After returning from Japan I started to go to school. The Japanese decided to pay my tuition fees. It was not easy to go to school and come home due to my disability. I faced a lot of problems during my school life. Actually, due to my disability, I couldn’t complete my education. I was in depression. But her uncle Kami Rita Sherpa came to me and said:” It’s okay getting graduated should not be the only goal being independent should be your goal to be achieved.” I was confused by his words.

Now that we are 12 years in, I see a lot of changes happening in the industry, and I see a lot of amazing potential for everyone. If everyone can continue to support each other, we can all be so much more successful together as an industry by working TOGETHER, rather than by tearing each other down. I truly believe that in my heart of hearts. If everyone can treat everyone as they wish to be treated, we will all be successful together, no one will lose, and everyone will win.

So, as we continue our journey into the next 12 years, we just want to say THANK YOU to all who believed in me, believed in my company and who worked together kindly and appreciated everything they were gifted in this industry, from the special new person you met at trekking, to the kind gesture of a company giving you a free dinner at an event. If we can all take the time to be as grateful and appreciative as humanly possible, we will be a part of the solution to continuing to work together in an industry full of love, kindness and support, which was the entire reason behind my invention of Khumbu Nangpala Trekking and Expedation.Pvt.Ltd. With gratitude and appreciation,

Fura Chhamzi Sherpa
