Mani Rimdu festival is observed in Thame Monastery of Thame village, a day walk from Namche Bazar after six months of Tengboche’s Mani Rimdu festival. Many westerns come to watch this spectacular mask dance of monks. This (Sherpa Culture) festival celebrates right after the full moon of spring in Thame and Chiwang Monastery. The monks, with elaborate masks and costumes on, perform a series of ritualistic dances of the triumph of Buddhism over Bon, the ancient animistic religion of Tibet. celebrate on May – June.
